Contraste Europe, official DocOrigin partner
Contraste Europe is the official DocOrigin partner for Belgium, France and Luxembourg. Through this partnership, Contraste Europe supports public and private institutions in the digital transformation of their document processes.
As part of the project to modernise the City of Charleroi, the Contraste Europe team was appointed to ensure the complete technical implementation of the DocOrigin solution, from scoping to production start-up.

Context
Charleroi, a city with a rich industrial past, is today a forward-looking metropolis. As the social capital of Wallonia and a major administrative centre, it manages a large volume of documents for its citizens. Modernising its documentary tools had become essential to ensure the performance, quality and compliance of its communications.
The challenge
The town needed to replace two old systems (Adobe Central and Adobe LiveCycle ES3), which had become obsolete. The main constraints identified were
Limited capacity to manage large print volumes
Poor print quality due to the use of graphic elements in image format
Complexity of reusing existing templates in new tools
Need for scalability (electronic signature, HTML, web feeds)
Project objectives
The project aimed to :
Ensure automatic migration of IFD and XDP models
Generate documents from XML data and dynamic templates
Print documents in PDF and PCL, with fine-tuned printer management
Guarantee compatibility with existing business applications
Enable documents to be sent by e-mail
Integrate high-quality RTF legal clauses and resources
Offer a flexible, scriptable environment (JavaScript)

The DocOrigin solution
Contraste Europe has recommended the DocOrigin solution, developed by the creators of Adobe Central. With its advanced features and compatibility with legacy systems, DocOrigin was the ideal choice for Charleroi.
The SmartDigiDocs team handled the operational implementation of the project, including :
Migration of Adobe Central and LiveCycle templates to DocOrigin (XATW, JPS)
Restructuring XML data via JPS scripts if necessary
Integration of legal clauses in RTF for improved readability
Management of PCL printing on Konica Minolta printers
PDF file generation and automated e-mailing
Definite results
Complete migration with no impact on existing applications
Significantly improved document quality (printing, page layout)
Robust, optimised high-volume production workflows
Scalable solution, ready for electronic signatures and web forms
Key benefits
Automatic conversion of old templates with a 90-99% success rate
Faithful preservation of graphic objects, fields and structures
Smooth user experience for technical teams
Reduced maintenance effort
Increased performance and reliability of the document system
